In short: your scans and documents stay on your device and in your own iCloud Drive. We don’t see them.
Your documents
Scanning, text recognition (OCR), text removal and editing all happen on your device. Documents are stored locally and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud Drive.
Camera and Photos
PDF Eye asks for camera access to scan documents and for photo library access only when you choose to create a document from an existing photo.
Information we collect
Current versions of PDF Eye don’t send personal data to us. Earlier versions sent a random device identifier, the app version and App Store purchase receipts to our server (pdfeye.mozkan.com, formerly pdfeye.app) to verify purchases. That data is kept only as long as needed to support customers who still use those versions.
Logs
PDF Eye may keep diagnostic logs on your device. They are never sent automatically; our support team may ask you to share them when you report a problem.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK or California’s CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we don’t use accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. If you want us to delete data linked to an anonymous identifier, write to us and include the identifier shown in the app’s settings, if any.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchases using Apple’s signed transaction data on your device.
Children
PDF Eye is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on servers we operate in the United States with access restricted to the developer. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
