Your documents
Scanning, text recognition (OCR), editing, signing and PDF creation all happen on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Your scans, recognized text and PDFs are stored only in the app’s storage on your device. PDF Eye has no account and no server for your documents, and it never uploads them.
When you share a PDF or copy text, it goes only where you send it (for example Mail, Messages, AirDrop or the Files app).
Information the app collects
None. PDF Eye contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and sends no personal data to us or to anyone else. Earlier versions (1.x) sent a random device identifier, the app version and App Store purchase receipts to our server to verify purchases; version 2.0 and later verify purchases on your device and no longer contact our server.
Camera and Photos
PDF Eye asks for camera access to scan documents. It reads photos from your library only when you choose photos to import; you can pick individual photos without giving access to your whole library.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchases with Apple’s signed transaction data on your device.
Support messages
If you contact us through the support form or by email, we receive your name, email address, the app and topic, the device and app version if you give them, your message, the page you sent it from and your browser’s user agent. The form message is delivered to our support inbox through Brevo, our email delivery provider, and is used only to answer you; it is never used for marketing or shared with anyone else. To prevent abuse, the server keeps a short-lived, hashed record of the sending IP address for 15 minutes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK or California’s CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because the app collects no personal data, the only data we may hold is what you sent us in a support message. Write to us to exercise these rights.
Children
PDF Eye is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
